When an author dies we often choose one of their books. Elmore Leonard died in August this year and the obituaries described him as a modern master of American genre writing. “Glitz,” published in 1985, was his 25th novel and the breakthrough that flew to the top of the best-seller fiction lists and put him on the cover of Newsweek.
